Memphis is the heart of the Mid-South, and grocery stores are one of the most prominent sectors of retail. One of the Mid-South Retail Blog's chief goals is to preserve the stories and legacies of past retail establishments. Seessel's is where all of these things intersect. A family-owned grocery chain started in Memphis way back when, Seessel's experienced a number of ownership changes around the turn of the millennium, and ultimately wound up being wiped out of the Mid-South. Present day, the memory of Seessel's is likely dwindling... but this series of posts aims to ensure it will never be forgotten. If you have any information or photos regarding Seessel's or its successors, please leave a comment or email me at midsouthretailblog [at] gmail [dot] com!
