Memphis is the heart of the Mid-South, and grocery stores are one of the most prominent sectors of retail. One of the Mid-South Retail Blog's chief goals is to preserve the stories and legacies of past retail establishments.
Seessel's is where all of these things intersect. A family-owned grocery chain started in Memphis way back when, Seessel's experienced a number of ownership changes around the turn of the millennium, and ultimately wound up being wiped out of the Mid-South. Present day, the memory of Seessel's is likely dwindling... but this series of posts aims to ensure it will never be forgotten.
